STEMise
A Youth-Led Organization Empowering Individuals Through Fun and Interactive STEM Education

Who We Are

Founded in May 2025, STEMise is a student-led organization based in South Korea and Japan, committed to redefining STEM education. Founded by high schoolers Ryan Ahn and Dongwon Lee, the organization aims to address issues related to STEM education while inspiring young people to develop an interest in STEM disciplines. At STEMise, we strongly believe in the power of fun, interactive learning experiences that can surpass the limitations of traditional, passive education. Through fun and educational STEM kits and engaging workshops, STEMise not only enriches youths' knowledge in various STEM disciplines but also develops a fundamental foundation for lifelong passion, curiosity, and innovative discoveries that equip them for future success.

What We Do

At STEMise, our acts are driven by our value of the power of fun and interactive learning experiences. We empower future generations of individuals with the characteristics necessary for them to succeed in the modern world. Characteristics such as creativity or critical thinking are valuable attributes that provide humans a significant comparative advantage, and STEMise aims to cultivate early foundations for individuals to ensure their success over the course of their lives. We specifically do so by distributing our own STEM kits, which teach concepts ranging from engineering to physics, while doing so in a way that allows them to enjoy the learning experience. Our kits serve as a foundation for an individual's journey in lifelong curiosity, learning, and passion. On top of this, we aim to provide individuals with various lessons on topics regarding technology and STEM in general through our biweekly workshops.

Why We Matter

  • A 2021 UNESCO report states that over 60% of students worldwide lack access to adequate STEM education resources, a phenomenon that is particularly evident in underserved communities.

  • Studies show that students learn 75% more effectively through interactive activities compared to lectures.

  • According to the Raspberry Pi Foundation (UK): More than 70% of parents say their children are not being taught coding as part of their normal school lessons.

  • Less than 25% of global K-12 students get meaningful exposure to AI concepts.

  • Studies show that hands-on STEM and early AI projects result in higher results in higher problem-solving and computational thinking, and it’s an approximately 30-40% improvement compared to traditional learning.

Serious STEM. Seriously Fun

Words From the Founder (Ryan Ahn)

Sup! My name is Ryan, and I am a high school junior based in Seoul, South Korea. After noticing an issue of a lack of STEM education in my community, I first founded a Seoul chapter of an existing organization in hopes of providing STEM education to underserved communities during my sophomore year. However, while planning for workshops for the chapter, I realized the fact that there can be many better methods in providing STEM education to these communities. I brainstormed rigorously, which led to the transition of finding a completely new youth-led organization called STEMise. Through STEMise, I hope many individuals - from youths to elders - can receive education on various STEM disciplines in a way that can instill them with lifelong curiosity and passion. Furthermore, in a world where AI and technology are prevalent, we hope to provide these individuals with fundamental knowledge that can bring them success. I hope you guys can join the organization and contribute to the mission :)
